Remember those childhood trips you took with mom and dad along Route 66? Images of motels with their unique neon flashing signs, home-town diners and restaurants, the March Arch Rainbow Bridge, "Here it is" sign from the Jackrabbit Trading Post, the Wigwam Motel, the Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest, the Chain of Rocks Bridge in Illinois, unique train depots, roadside fruit/vegetable stands, Tall Paul and the Gemini Giant, Hackberry General Store (Kingman, AZ), Meramec Caverns Barn, the 1932 Standard Oil Service Station (Odell, IL), the Blue Whale (Catoosa, OK) plus many, many more attractions all make for some wonderful memories. Well, it’s time to take a trip down memory lane. What better way to make this trip than on a motorcycle?
Imagine thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts cruising along Route 66 from the east and from the west, all converging in the heart of Historic Route 66, known as Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The first annual Tulsa Bike Rally envisions a glorious celebration of the great “Mother Road” Route 66. Help us promote and preserve this American legend by making plans NOW to attend our FIRST annual Tulsa Bike Rally to be held inside beautiful Mohawk Park.
Plans include top name entertainment, poker runs, bikini bike washes, celebrity look-alikes (get your picture taken with “Cher” or “James Dean”), unique shopping with our many vendors, a parade through town along Historic Route 66, contests with bike give-a-ways, door prizes, raffles, special performance by the Tulsa Police Motorcycle Squad, Extreme Fighting, FMX Stunt Riders, a Biker Build-Off competition plus an antique motorcycle auction. The Oklahoma Route 66 Association will be highly visible, chocked full of information on the Historic road and stocked with Route 66 merchandise for sale.
While you are in Tulsa, enjoy the local fare. Tulsa is full of great restaurants, clubs and bars. A few of the many entertainment venues you can enjoy are Tulsa’s water park, Big Splash, baseball at Driller Stadium and horse racing at Fair Meadows. Fly on the trapeze at RIVERWALK CROSSING in Jenks (just across the Arkansas River); visit the Center of the Universe in downtown Tulsa; try your luck at one of Tulsa’s many first class casinos or just enjoy cruising the “Mother Road”.
Come on…it’ll be an adventure. Plan now to take that trip down memory lane and meet us in TULSA!
